Ferns listed 26th in FIFA rankings ahead of women’s World Cup tournament

The Football Ferns will go into next month’s FIFA Women’s World Cup with a global ranking as the 26th-best international team.

The latest FIFA rankings have seen the Ferns slip from 25th to 26th after their last results, a 1-1 draw with Iceland and a 3-0 loss to Nigeria.

The Ferns have endured a gradual decline in the rankings from 16th in the world a decade ago.

World Cup holders remain the number 1 ranked side, having held top spot since June 2017.
