Newly-established fans’ group to work with A-League’s Wellington Phoenix

Fans will soon have a formal process for sharing their views with A-League club Wellington Phoenix.

They are members of the Phoenix XI, the club’s inaugural Fan Representative Group (FRG).

Karen Anderson, Susan Baikie, Alysha Beattie, Stephen Clarke, Holly Eades, Blake Forbes-Gentle, Ethan Fransen, Kaitlyn Gunn, John Palethorpe, Oska Rego and Roshi Sneyd are the first XI.

They will meet virtually at least four times a year, with one of the group members to be elected as chair to represent Nix supporters in the newly formed A-League Fan Representative Group, which will hold its first meeting in September.

Minutes from the meetings will be shared between the club and the league, and published on official channels.

‘Our game is nothing without our fans’

Phoenix general manager David Dome has welcomed the A-League-led initiative and has congratulated the fans on their inclusion in the Phoenix XI.

“The FRG formalises what we’ve been doing informally for a while now,” Dome said.

“Our game is nothing without our fans and the Phoenix XI will ensure our supporters’ voices are heard.

“We were blown away by the response from our fans to be part of the club’s FRG with more than 50 submissions received.

“It was difficult to name just 11 fans to the group, but we believe the individuals named above are a great representation of the club’s supporter base, including members of Yellow Fever, The Little Corner of Yellow and Flight of the Nix.”
