All Whites’ June opponents lose to Croatia U-23 in friendly match

Qatar have lost a friendly international 1-0 to Croatia’s U-23 team as they prepare for the June international window which includes a match against the All Whites.

Qatar play Jamaica and New Zealand in Vienna, Austria, before heading to the Gold Cup tournament hosted by the United States and Canada.

The match against New Zealand kicks off at 4am on Tuesday June 20 (NZT), three days after the All Whites play Sweden.

Playing Croatia U-23 in Vienna, where the Qatar team has its training camp, the only goal of the game was scored by striker Igor Matanovic in the 79th minute.

Qatar coach Carlos Queiroz rotated his squad to field separate line-ups for each half of the game.
