Who is Ashleigh Ward? Footballer? Teacher? Rugby player? Gaelic footballer?

As she’s come to realise over the years, all of the above. Ashleigh Ward’s journey to becoming a Ford Football Fern took her to college in America back to Aotearoa to going into teaching and stepping away from football for a time, picking up a rugby ball and Gaelic football as she rediscovered her love for the sport.

She eventually made her debut for the senior team in November 2021 against Korea Republic and since then her life has changed, from finishing her teaching on a Friday and starting life as a professional footballer with Southampton on the Monday.
