Two more quarter-finalists found at OFC U-19 Women’s Championship

posted in: News

New Caledonia and Samoa have joined New Zealand in the quarter-finals at the OFC U-19 Women’s Championship in Fiji.

New Caledonia completed their Group A fixtures with a third win, beating Tonga 6-0, a result that leaves Tonga at the bottom of the group with no points, and out of the tournament.

Samoa staged a late comeback, scoring goals in the 86th and 88th minutes to beat Vanuatu 3-2 and ensure a place in the last eight. Vanuatu must wait on other results to learn who they will meet in the quarter-finals as one of the best-performing third-placed teams in the groups.

The winner of the tournament gains automatic qualification to the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
