Remembering the 204 Ferns who got us to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup

New Zealand Football have shared the artwork behind their gesture of appreciation to the 204 Football Ferns, past and present, who helped get the team to the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The names of all 204 Ferns were included in a motif of the number 24, a nod to them collectively being the 24th member of the squad to play at the world cup tournament.

The artwork’s first public appearance was on pre-match apparel at the Ferns’ friendly against Vietnam in Napier, the week before the world cup tournament.

NZ Football shared the artwork via its social media ahead of Sunday’s crucial game against Switzerland in Dunedin, acknowledging the part played by previous members of the national squad.
