WaiBOP Football seek applications for Women’s Development Officer

WaiBOP Football are recruiting a Women’s Development Officer (WDO) to support the growth and development of the female game within the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions.

This is a full-time position that will require travel from time to time to various locations within and outside the federation, as well as the ability to work flexible working hours, including weekends.

There is flexibility on where this role would be based as the new WDO will be required to have a presence in all of the regions that make up the WaiBOP region.

In its advertisement for the role, WaiBOP says:

“The ideal candidate should have a passion for the sport and display a desire to grow the game at every level, as well as possessing relevant work experience within a football and/or futsal environment.

“This role will have a strong focus on supporting the growth and development of football and futsal within the community.

“The employment package will include the use of a vehicle, mobile phone, and laptop.

“Our preferred applicant would ideally possess:

  • A tertiary qualification in Sport Management, or related area of study, and experience in community sport management.
  • A good understanding of the football/futsal system, and clear understanding of the regional and local sporting landscape.
  • Proven ability to work with volunteers and an in-depth understanding of volunteer best practice.
  • Possess strong practical football/futsal development experience.
  • Good planning and self-management skills.
  • Good recording and reporting skills.
  • High level of communication and listening skills.
  • Be calm under pressure.
