VIDEO: Japan too strong for New Zealand at U-17 men’s tournament

New Zealand have lost 2-0 to Japan in the second of their games at the 25th International Youth Soccer tournament in Niigata.

The match was New Zealand’s second at the four-team tournament, designed to help teams teams prepare for November’s FIFA U-17 World Cup in Indonesia.

In the opening game, New Zealand lost 2-1 to regional selection Niigata.

On Monday, New Zealand’s last game is against Venezuela, who they will meet again in group play at the FIFA U-17 Men’s World Cup.

Venezuela beat a Niigata selection 1-0 in the second round of games.
