A New Zealand footballer features in a ranking of the 20 players to have played the most season minutes in Europe.

Listed as the fourth most-played footballer — between Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes and Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr — is All Whites goalkeeper Max Crocombe.

The rankings were based on figures for the last full seasons played in European countries.

Auckland-born Crocombe (29) played 5,340 minutes for English League Two club Grimsby Town. He has since signed for English League One club Burton Albion.

Manchester United midfielder Fernandes played 59 games, missing only three fixtures for the side, and headed the list compiled by Transfermarkt.

The next three players in the list were all goalkeepers, including Crocombe.
