The Most Valuable Players (MVPs) have been confirmed for the now-completed men’s regional leagues, with Derek Tieku (Hamilton Wanderers), Matt Brazier (Petone) and Garbhan Coughlan (Cashmere Technical) taking the honours.
With the Men’s National League due to start over the weekend of September 23-24, NZ Football have confirmed the MVPs for the three regional leagues, as well as Golden Boot winners.
In the Northern League, Hamilton Wanderers’ Derek Tieku has been named MVP and shared the Golden Boot with Auckland City striker Ryan de Vries.
They both scored 19 goals.
Petone’s Matt Brazier also took out double honours, being the Central League’s MVP and its top goalscorer with 18 goals.
In the Southern League, Cashmere Technical striker Garbhan Coughlan was the competition’s MVP and he was runner-up in the Golden Boot with 28 goals.
Christchurch United’s Sam Philip edged him in the Golden Boot, finding the net 29 times.
