James McGarry suffers hamstring injury ahead of return to All Whites squad

posted in: All Whites, News

Wing-back James McGarry is getting treatment for a hamstring injury in a bid to be fit for the All Whites’ two friendly internationals in mid-October.

McGarry (25) limped off the pitch only six minutes into his Aberdeen club’s Scottish Premiership match against Ross County on Monday (NZT).

Aberdeen manager Barry Robson has confirmed McGarry has a hamstring injury, the extent of which was still to be determined.

However, it’s likely the New Zealander will be left out of Aberdeen’s line-up for their Viaplay Cup quarter-final on Thursday (NZT), also against Ross County.

McGarry is looking to add to his sole New Zealand cap after being named by head coach Darren Bazeley in the 22-player All Whites squad to play DR Congo and Australia.

He joined Aberdeen in August from Australian A-League club Central Coast Mariners.
