The Wellington Phoenix have won a pre-season friendly 2-1 against the Newcastle Jets in Gosford.
Playing the first of two warm-up games in Australia ahead of the start of the women’s A-League on October 15, the Phoenix won with goals from Football Ferns Kate Taylor (penalty) and Grace Wisnewski.
The Phoenix play the Central Coast Mariners on Saturday.
