Newly-selected All Whites defender Tyler Bindon has celebrated the scoring of his first goal as a professional, finding the net for Reading in England’s League One.
After the match, Bindon (18) told his club’s YouTube channel:
“I didn’t realize I scored for a split second, and then I saw the fans,” he said.
The goal was special for Bindon as his parents, Jenny and Grant, were in the stands at Leyton Orient’s Brisbane Road where the home side beat Reading 2-1 with a last-minute winner.
“I think it was pretty special for me — it was nice to have my parents and really good family friends in the stands to see that first goal,” Bindon said.
Bindon said that while scoring was personally pleasing, conceding a late goal and losing “killed that mood really, because it’s a team sport and I and I lose with a team.”
