New Zealand are edging towards the top 100 in the official FIFA world rankings of international men’s teams.

The October 2023 rankings show the All Whites have moved up two places to 103rd, after a 1-1 draw with DR Congo and the 2-0 loss to Australia.

Australia remain 27th in the ratings.

New Zealand’s next opponents are Greece, whose ranking is unchanged at 51st, and the Republic of Ireland, who have dropped three places to 58th.

New Zealand’s position was 122nd when Danny Hay took over as head coach in late 2019.

The highest position achieved by New Zealand has been 47th (in August 2002); the lowest has been 161st (April-May 2016).

Ferns in 26th place

The Football Ferns are currently rated the 26th best women’s team, according to FIFA’s latest rankings.
