A young Christchurch goalkeeper has landed a contract with Dutch second division leaders Roda JC Kerkrade.
Former Nomads United first-team ‘keeper Dublin Boon (18) has been signed after seeking trials and playing opportunities in the Netherlands.
By joining Roda JC, Boon is following All Whites legend Ivan Vicelich who played 129 games for the club between 2001-06.
Boon has become part of Roda JC’s U-21 squad but was named as a first-team substitute for the KNVB Cup tie against NEC Nijmegen on November 2, 2023.
Roda JC currently lead the Eerste Divisie (second division), a tier below the Eredivisie which includes giant clubs such as Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven.
