Football Ferns goalkeeper Anna Leat has kept a clean sheet and saved a penalty in Aston Villa’s 5-0 cup win against Sheffield United.
Leat (22) was promoted to English club Villa’s starting line-up for the team’s Continental League Cup tie, and made the most of her opportunity.
Though a first-half hat-trick from England’s FIFA Women’s World Cup star Rachel Daly swung the match to Villa, Leat had plenty to do, making a couple of key saves.
Late in the game, United were awarded a penalty which Leat saved, diving to parry the spot kick from Jodie Hutton.
