North Shore United to hold volunteer appreciation evening

posted in: Club noticeboard

North Shore United will host a special gathering for its volunteers on Monday November 20.

The event is billed as a ‘Volunteer Appreciation/Recruitment’ evening, aimed at acknowledging the contributing of current volunteers and encouraging more to get involved.

It will be held at Allen Hill Stadium, Devonport, from 7pm.

In its promotion of the event, the club says:

“A grassroots football club is only as good as the volunteers it has supporting it.

“We welcome old and new volunteers to talk about how we can all help each other over the season.

“We are not talking about those big roles like fundraiser, convenor or manager roles — rather we are talking about those little jobs that need attention but we never have the people!

“For example: pinning fixtures up each week; helping give out kit at the start of the season; pump balls; wash bibs; collecting pictures for the fortnightly newsletter. Nothing too major.

“If you think you can help, we would love to see you! We will be providing a complimentary drink and nibbles.

“It will also be a great opportunity to thank all of our volunteers who volunteered this year in some shape or form.”
