Sixth uncapped player added to Ferns squad for Colombia international games

posted in: Football Ferns, News

Injury has forced another change to the Football Ferns squad to play Colombia, with the inclusion of uncapped midfielder Aniela Jensen.

Jensen (21) will replace striker Hannah Blake who has withdrawn from the squad to play two games against Colombia in Bogata.

She has represented New Zealand at U-20 level and has been on the fringes of the full national side, having been included in the Ferns training group ahead of this year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Jensen plays under a scholarship programme at the University of the Pacific in the United States.

In July, she played two games for Western Springs, a Lotto NRFL Women’s Premier League fixture and a quarter-final of the Kate Sheppard Cup.

She began her football career at Ruahine when four, and has played club football for Palmerston North Marist and national league for Central Football.

Jensen is the second replacement for the Colombia-bound squad, after the addition of Wellington Phoenix winger Manaia Elliott (18) who has replaced injured defender Meikayla Moore.
