The head coach of defending champions Auckland City, Albert Riera, is claiming underdog status when his team plays Wellington Olympic in Sunday’s Grand Final.
“We know we are the underdogs,” he told Auckland City’s media team.
“We deserve to be the underdogs in the Grand Final.”
The TAB disagrees, with the bookmaker making Auckland City $1.85 favourites, while Wellington Olympic are $3.30 to win and the draw after 90 minutes is rated a $3.80 price.
Auckland City play Wellington Olympic at Auckland’s Go Media Stadium Mt Smart on Sunday November 26, with the winner claiming the men’s National League title.
The Navy Blues beat Olympic in the Grand Final last year but Olympic turned the tables on Auckland City in their last outing, beating them 3-1 at Kiwitea St on November 12.
