Making the announcement, the club said: “We welcome Peter Martin, and his 15 years of coaching, which has included experience at the Northern Premier level with Central United and Onheunga Sports.

“As a board and club, making decisions that align with our strategic planning is important, this announcement does in no way discredit the efforts that have gone in over the last three years while the structures and governance were installed but evolves the club, a club that is certainly moving forward rapidly.

“We are delighted to have someone of Peter’s standing at the club moving us, educating us and committing to the future.

“A change of scenery for Matt Bouma. Matt has probably had the toughest period in charge of a Premier team in the club’s history, but he has done it to the absolute best of his ability and more importantly, shown a willingness to learn more and be involved in the mechanics of the club.”

The club said Bouma would oversee staff across the boys’ and girls’ youth development programmes, “ensuring a rigorous and challenging programme is installed for our aspiring sporting athletes.”

Bouman would continue to lead the club’s skills centre and involved in talent recruitment and analysis.
