In the announcement of McMurdoch’s appointment, he said:

“I look forward to continue helping build the community of Manurewa with the first team and the U-23s and keep on developing the pathway for all ages of players to be able to play the highest levels possible of football while still living in their neighbourhood.

“It is my aim the first team will be great role models for all younger players at the club to aspire to be like in football and in life.”

The club says McMurdoch stood in for coach Paul Marshall last season when Marshall went down with flu’, and he did an outstanding job, guiding the side to a 0-0 draw with Auckland United.

McMurdoch is a UEFA A Licence-qualified coach with 30 years experience.
