A 2-1 win against Newcastle Jets has given the Wellington Phoenix a two-point lead in the men’s A-League.
Captain Alex Rufer put the Nix ahead in the fifth minute — his third goal in as many games — when he converted from the penalty spot.
The Jets drew level through Trent Buhaglar with 10 minutes to go at McDonald Jones Stadium.
However, substitute Oskar Zawada, playing his first game in six weeks, scored the winner with three minutes of normal time left.
