All Whites forward Marco Rojas says he’s not ready for 90 minutes but he wants to make an impact if used for part of Friday’s match between his new and former clubs.
At a media briefing ahead of the men’s A-League game with Wellington Phoenix, Roar’s new signing said:
“My last game was mid-June and that was 45 minutes. I’d be very surprised if I was able to run through 90 minutes, but hopefully, I can play a little bit of a part.
“I don’t think it matters whether it’s off the off the bench, or starts, the main thing is the impact.
“If I can have the impact, wherever that is, however that is. It’s also not my decision.”
Rojas (32) has signed with Roar for the rest of the 2023-23 Isuzu UTE A-League season, and has been named in their squad for the Round 15 fixture against the Nix at Suncorp Stadium.
“It’d be nice too if I get to get a run on in the game against one of my old clubs — that’ll be quite special. It’s also awesome to see them doing so well,” Rojas said.

At his media briefing, Hamilton-born Rojas said he had taken half a year out of the game, agreeing an early departure from Chile club Colo-Colo.
“It’s just what I what I kind of needed to do personally and for family reasons,” he said.
