WATCH: Highlights from Phoenix women’s 3-2 loss to Newcastle Jets

Five goals and a spectacular save from goalkeeper Brianna Edwards thrilled the crowd as the Newcastle Jets beat the Wellington Phoenix 3-2 in their women’s A-League fixture.

The Phoenix got off to the best possible start, taking a fourth-minute lead through top goalscorer Mariana Speckmaier.

Newcastle levelled in the 33rd minute through Zoe Karipidis and almost went ahead but for an outstanding save from Nix goalkeeper Brianna Edwards late in the half.

Libby Copus-Brown struck from long range to give the Jets a 2-1 lead but Isabel Cox got her side level when she clinically finished in the 56th minute.

Sarina Bolden gave the home side the lead in the 65th minute.

The Jets denied the New Zealanders of a late comeback to take the win.
