Otahuhu United appoint men’s and women’s first team coaches for next season

Otahuhu United have appointed coaches for their men’s and women’s first teams for the 2024 season.

Kieran Gutry (31) steps up from his role as assistant coach for the past two seasons to become coach of United’s first team who play in NRF Men’s Division 4.

Previous head coach Glen Jones will be Gutry’s assistant in a swap of roles.

“It’s a pleasure to be part of the coaching team for another season in 2024. We have a great crop of players that we want to continue to build on and are looking to take us one step further with a promotion next year,” Gutry says.

Stephen West (35) has been appointed head coach for Otahuhu United’s women’s team. He has previously coached junior teams, and women’s sides in 2020-2021.

He helped coach the combined women’s teams of Otahuhu United and Mangere United after their collaboration last season.

Announcing West’s appointment, Otahuhu United said: “We’re excited to see what Stephen has to offer for our women’s space in 2024 and are excited to bring through more wāhine (new to experienced) to community football.”
