Swedish striker joins Napier City Rovers ahead of new Central League campaign

Napier City Rovers have signed Swedish striker Oscar Faulds for the new Central League season.

Faulds (22) arrives in New Zealand having played for Swedish fifth-tier club Storfors AIK last season, having joined them from second division club Hudiksvalls FF.

As a youth player, he played for Älvsjö AIK and Brommapojkarna in the Junior Allsvenskan, which is Sweden’s premier competition for U-19 teams, before breaking into senior football with IFK Luleå.

When he joined Hudiksvalls FF in February 2023, the club’s sports director, Mickey Flaaten said Faulds was “a reliable attacking weapon” who had scored at an average of a goal a game.

“Oscar has a high level of ambition and intensity in his game,” he said.
