A goalless draw with Perth Glory has extended the Wellington Phoenix lead to six points at the top of the men’s A-League.
Both sides had chances to win the match in Perth but the Phoenix went closest when forward Ben Old hit the post, while former Phoenix goalkeeper Oli Sail made a couple of crucial saves for his new club.
While the Phoenix have increased their lead in the Isuzu UTE A-League, nearest rivals Central Coast Mariners and Melbourne Victory play each other on Sunday evening, ensuring one of them, at least, will close the gap.
