Big matches in Oceania competitions and the A-Leagues provided the focus for the weekend’s football action.

Auckland City took the early advantage in their two-legged OFC Men’s Champions League play-off series with Wellington Olympic, with a 1-0 win at Kiwitea St.

Adverse weather conditions disrupted the start of the OFC Women’s Champions League in the Solomon Islands, forcing the rescheduling of Auckland United’s first game till Tuesday.

In the men’s A-League, Wellington Phoenix have been overtaken at the top of the table by the Central Coast Mariners, but the Wellington Phoenix landed a much-needed win in the women’s A-League.
