An early goal from Bozhidar Kraev was enough for the 10-man Wellington Phoenix to beat Brisbane Roar 1-0 before more than 8,000 fans at Sky Stadium.
Captain Alex Rufer was sent off in the second half, forcing the Phoenix to desperately defend their lead as they stayed clear at the top of the men’s A-League table.
