WATCH: Aucklander Emma Pijnenberg scores debut goal in Dutch first division

New Zealand U-20 international Emma Pijnenburg has scored her first goal in the top tier of Dutch women’s football, helping her Feyenoord club to a 3-0 win.

Pijnenberg (19) made her first team debut in the Vrouwen Eredivisie on March 3 after securing a place with the Feyenoord academy.

Her first goal came in the second half of the round 19 match against SC Telstar when she received the ball on the corner of the penalty area.

She chipped her shot over the head of the Telstar ‘keeper and into the net.

Emma Pijnenberg’s move to Europe

Pijnenberg headed overseas in late 2022, after helping Western Springs finish runners-up in the Women’s National League.

In July 2023, she was one of the outstanding performers for New Zealand at the OFC U-19 Women’s Championship, scoring four goals at the tournament and helping her side clinch their place at the 2024 U-20 World Cup.
