WATCH: All Whites skipper Chris Wood strikes again to continue run of form

In-form New Zealand striker Chris Wood has helped keep alive his Nottingham Forest club’s hopes of avoiding relegation with his eighth goal in nine appearances.

Wood (32) struck from long-range to score Forest’s second goal in their 3-1 midweek win against Fulham.

The win lifted Forest three points above the relegation zone in the English Premier League.

The goal adds to Wood’s list of goalscoring achievements that include:

No EPL striker has a better shot-to-goal conversion rate this season.

His latest goal — his 66th in the EPL — takes him to 74th in the all-time list of scorers in the competition.

His 11 goals this season are his fifth double-figure haul for an EPL season, a rare feat achieved only by an elite band of strikers that includes Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Harry Kane (Spurs), Jamie Vardy (Leicester City) and Son Heung-Min (Spurs).

He scored his 10th goal of the season last weekend, with a deft header to earn a 1-1 draw for Forest against Crystal Palace.

Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has been praising Wood’s contribution to his team.

“As long as Chris is on the pitch we trust him so much that he’s going to deliver for us. He’s a fantastic professional. We’ve got to keep him healthy, to help him and for sure, he’s going to give us a big hand,” he said.
