A fresh look for one of New Zealand’s oldest clubs as Metro reveals new logo

Auckland club Metro FC have celebrated their 125th anniversary with the reveal of a new logo that will be phased in for use with everything from signage to apparel.

The newly-designed logo was introduced to members with key messages about its reflection of the club’s heritage, going back to the days when it was formed in 1899 as the Tabernacle-Metropolitan Club by parishioners of the local Baptist Church.

The became Metropolitan in 1921, and after merging with College United in 1929, it became Metro College.

It’s been Metro since 1986.
