WATCH: Macey Fraser interview after record-breaking transfer to Utah

Football Fern Macey Fraser has fronted a media conference to talk about her record-breaking transfer to United States club Utah Royals.

The midfielder will move to the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club on a multi-year deal after the Royals negotiated an undisclosed fee for the Wellington Phoenix to release her from the last two years of her three-year contract.

Though the Phoenix won’t disclose the fee, they say it has “smashed” the previous record for a women’s A-League player.

In February, Bay FC reportedly paid $100,000 to sign goalkeeper Lysianne Proulx from Melbourne City, suggesting the Phoenix will receive a six-figure sum.
