Football Ferns Rebekah Stott and Hannah Wilkinson have moved a step closer to the women’s A-League grand final after their Melbourne City side convincingly won the first leg of their semi-final.
City beat Newcastle Jets 3-0 away, giving the Melbourne side the advantage for next weekend’s second leg to be played at home.
In the other semi-final, Sydney also won their first leg on the road, beating Central Coast Mariners 1-0.
