The Wellington Phoenix will take a special club photo after the men’s final round match against Macarthur FC at Sky Stadium on Saturday night.

Fans will be invited to come down from the stands after the final whistle to join the players, staff and volunteers for a photo in the middle of the pitch.

“We want to celebrate all of those who have contributed to what has been a history-making season for the club,” Phoenix general manager David Dome said.

“While the players and coaching staff deserve all of the plaudits they’re getting, the team wouldn’t be where they are without our fans and our volunteers.

“There have been numerous matches this season where the men haves scored late goals to grab crucial points in the title race, and that’s because of the support the players get from the stands.

“And our matchdays simply wouldn’t happen without our hard-working volunteers, who I believe are the best in the league.”

The club photo may also feature the Premiers’ Plate.

Australian Professional Leagues (APL) have confirmed they will be sending the premiership trophy to Wellington.

The Phoenix will be presented with the Premiers’ Plate if they beat Macarthur FC and Central Coast Mariners lose to Newcastle Jets in Newcastle.

Both matches kick-off at 7.15pm (NZT).

Meanwhile, the final regular season game for the Mariners has been scheduled for Wednesday May 1.
