New Zealand international winger Callum McCowatt could be the next All White to play in a UEFA competition after helping his Silkeborg IF side win the Danish Cup.

McCowatt (25) came off the bench in his club’s 1-0 win against Aarhus GF in Copenhagen, a win that qualifies his club for the first qualifying round of the 2024-25 Europa League.

Silkeborg’s victory was the second time the club has won the Danish Cup, after last winning it in 2000-01.

McCowatt played in every round of the cup, either in the starting side or off the bench, and scored three goals in the campaign.

He joined the Danish Superliga club in 2023, moving from Danish first division side FC Helsingør for whom he played more than 80 games after signing with them in 2020.

McCowatt played his youth football for Greenhithe, Forrest Hill Milford United, East Coast Bays and Team Wellington.

His senior career started with Western Suburbs before spells with Auckland City, Eastern Suburbs and the Wellington Phoenix.

An age group international with New Zealand’s U-17, U-20 and U-23 sides, McCowatt made his full international debut in 2019.
