Before the Kate Sheppard Cup break, Onehunga Sports delivered a 5-3 triumph over previously unbeaten leaders Tauranga Moana, cutting their lead and levelling the playing field at the top.

Now the heat is on the three frontrunners to grab victories and keep pace with each other this weekend.

Franklin United gear up for a match against Central United at their Drury home field.

Onehunga Sports square off against Melville United, while Tauranga Moana duel Manukau United in the Bay of Plenty.

Meanwhile, sixth-placed Birkenhead will go up against fifth-placed Northern Rovers this weekend. Success is key for both teams to maintain hopes of catching the league leaders.
