Eastern Suburbs will head to the capital on Saturday March 5 to play their postponed semi-final of the Kate Sheppard Cup.
They’ll play Wellington United to decide who meets Hamilton Wanderers in the final of the NZ Football Foundation-sponsored cup on Sunday March 13, at a venue to be decided when the finalists are decided.
Announcing the revised schedule, New Zealand Football’s general manager of football, Daniel Farrow, said the final of the Kate Sheppard Cup would need to be played behind closed doors but would be broadcast live and free on Sky Sport Next.
It was not possible to play this year’s Kate Sheppard Cup final as a double header with the men’s Chatham Cup final (which will be contest between Miramar Rangers and Cashmere Technical on Sunday March 6).
“Splitting the finals enables us to get our competitions finished as soon and as safely as possible,” he said.
