The Kate Sheppard Cup final between Hamilton Wanderers and Wellington United has been postponed till Sunday March 27.

This follows confirmation of “a large number of COVID-19 cases in the Wellington United camp”, according to an announcement on the NZ Football website.

The match was to have taken place behind closed doors at Hamilton’s FMG Stadium on Sunday March 13 and broadcast live on Sky Sports NEXT.

However, NZ Football says the venue for the rescheduled final has still to be confirmed.

NZ Football said:

“The decision to postpone the game was made keeping player welfare at the fore, while following New Zealand Football COVID-19 protocols and consulting with the clubs involved.”
