Administrators have been forced to postpone this month’s two-match play-off series to decide whether Papakura City or Ngaruawahia United will earn promotion to the Lotto NRFL second division.
In a post on the federation’s Facebook page, Northern Region Football advised:
“The Lotto NRFL Division 2 playoff between Ngaruawahia FC and Papakura City FC scheduled for 12 and 19 March are postponed, due to a COVID-19 outbreak.
“NRF will work with all clubs and stakeholders to reschedule, and will confirm the new dates as soon as possible.”
The first game in the series was scheduled for Saturday March 13 at Ngaruawahia’s Centennial Park with the second leg booked a week later for McLennan Park at Papakura.
The delay in deciding which club is promoted puts pressure on the fixture schedule for the Lotto NRFL second division.
