Though her Liverpool side clinched promotion three weeks ago, Football Fern Meikayla Moore and her teammates had to wait till their weekend win against Sheffield United to celebrate winning the FA Women’s Championship.
The trophy could finally be handed over after the 6-1 win in their penultimate fixture at their home ground of Prenton Park on April 24, in front of more than 2,000 supporters.
Liverpool now return to the top tier of UK women’s football, the Women’s Super League.
