Wins to Unicol and Taupo keep them top of the WaiBOP Premiership

A hat-trick from Joseph O’Donoghue set up a big win for Taupo and moved them into second place on the WaiBOP Premiership table.

Taupo beat West Hamilton United 7-0 with goals from Finlay Smith, Dylan Foster (2), O’Donoghue (3) and Logan Giddy.

Leaders Waikato Unicol won an important fixture at Otumoetai, knowing a loss there would drop them to third spot.

Unicol beat Otumoetai 5-0 with goals from Jacob Robb (2), Thomas O’Leary (2) and a Thomas Wright penalty.

In the Hamilton derby, local rivals Melville United and Hamilton Wanderers shared the points with a 2-2 draw.
