Results round-up for WaiBOP Premiership, Championship and W–League

posted in: News

Waikato Unicol stay three points clear at the top of the WaiBOP Premiership after winning their Matariki weekend game against bottom-placed Tauranga Old Blues by default.

Given the disparity in their league positions, Unicol could well regret having the default win as it credits them with a 3-0 victory whereas the score could have been greater if the fixture had gone ahead.

Nearest rivals Taupo kept in touch of the leaders with a 4-0 win at Hamilton Wanderers, while third-placed Otumoetai missed a beat, losing to lowly West Hamilton United.
