Birkenhead United’s Luke Allport goes into his side’s fourth-round Chatham Cup tie against Eastern Suburbs knowing he won’t be there if his side goes all the way.
Allport, the scorer of five United goals in this year’s Northern League, heads for the United States at the end of July to join Northeastern State University.
But first, he has some business to attend to — Wednesday night’s rescheduled cup tie at Shepherd’s Park.
The tie was previously postponed because of COVID issues.
The winners of the match will travel to Waiheke United for a quarter-final to be played over the weekend of July 30-31.
