Western Springs have had three points deducted from their Lotto NRFL Women’s Premier League campaign after fielding an ineligible player in their recent 3-2 win against Ellerslie.
Springs won the game at North Harbour Stadium on Friday July 15 but the result has now been changed to a 3-0 win in favour of Ellerslie.
Combined with their 2-0 loss to Auckland United on Sunday July 24, the loss of points has seen Springs fall from second in the league to fourth.
Ellerslie, who beat Tauranga City 6-0 in the latest round of games, were 14 points behind Springs after the July 15 game but are now only five points behind them.
