Patterson winner ensures Manurewa keep pressure on first division leaders

posted in: News

A goal by All White Monty Patterson was enough to earn Manurewa three points with a 1-0 Friday night win at Metro’s Phyllis Street Reserve.

Patterson — who joined Metro’s Jaydyn Englefield as the Lotto NRFL first division’s leading goalscorer with his goal — found the net after 37 minutes.

Patterson’s 12th goal of the season ensure Rewa went into half-time ahead.

The second half saw five yellow cards — four of them to Metro players — but little else as the clock wound down, ensuring Manurewa have kept up their pressure on division leader West Coast Rangers who play on Mangere Mountain on Saturday.
