10-man Ranui Swanson come from behind to beat Te Atatu under lights

posted in: News

Ranui Swanson came from behind to win their NRF Men’s Championship clash with Te Atatu despite having only 10 men for most of Friday night’s match.

Playing at Starling Park, Ranui Swanson came unstuck in the 35th minute when referee Riley Greenbury gave Xavier Christiansen a straight red for denying Te Atatu an obvious goalscoring opportunity.

Rhys Caples stepped up to score from the penalty spot, putting Te Atatu ahead.

That’s how the teams turned around, but the home side made their chances count in the second half.

Mohammed Haj came off the bench in the 59th minute and scored three minutes later, tying the score at 1-1.

Daniel Faure found a winner for Ranui Swanson with a goal in the 69th minute.

Ranui Swanson held on to record their fourth win of the season while the loss prevented Te Atatu from climbing into third spot.
