Metro found their goalscoring touch under the Phyllis Street floodlights on Friday when they came back from trailing 0-2 to beat Ellerslie 5-2.
The Ponies came out firing in this Lotto NRFL first division match.
They raced to a two-goal lead through goals from Christopher Kessell at 7 minutes and Rowan Corbett ten minutes later.
Tristan Prattley pulled back a goal midway through the half before Honggyu Han levelled in the 34th minute.
Prattley came up with a second goal after 39 minutes to put the home side ahead for the first time.
The teams went into the break with Metro leading 3-2.
In the second half, Metro’s leading goalscorer, Jaydyn Englefield, extended his side’s lead to 4-2.
Captain Joe Minto wrapped up the scoring with Metro’s fifth goal in the 83rd minute.
The result lifted Metro above Fencibles United and into ninth place on the table.
