Heading into the second-to-last round of the Lotto NRFL Women’s Premier League, match points are worth their weight in gold for final placings.

This week’s games are spread over four consecutive days, Thursday to Sunday.

Dedicated fans can catch every match and every team in action without a timetable clash.

Here’s the next round of games for August 25-28:

Friday

Western Springs (2nd) v Northern Rovers (1st)
Seddon Fields, Auckland, 7.30pm

Western Springs take on powerhouse Northern Rovers under the Friday night lights at the newly-refurbished Seddon Fields.

After a crucial 2-1 victory against Eastern Suburbs last week, Springs leapfrogged Suburbs on the table and have claimed second position by a two-point margin.

Eastern Suburbs (3rd) and Auckland United (4th) are hot on their heels and Springs will need to triumph against unbeaten Rovers to hang on to their second position.

Northern Rovers are a formidable force.

Last weekend, they secured a place in the Kate Sheppard Cup final after winning on penalties after a tense 2-2 draw against Dunedin City Royals.

With only two matches remaining in the Women’s Premier League, Rovers look set to end the season without a loss.

Western Springs could tarnish their record.
