The appointment of New Zealand officials reflects the ability of the Wellington Phoenix to play at home this season following two years of border restrictions forced by the COVID-19 pandemic.

All officials named in the panel, including 10 new to A-League, will attend an “elite match official seminar” from September 16-18 to help prepare.

Football Australia’s Head of Referees Nathan Magill said: “The Referees Department has been working tirelessly to ensure the match official pre-season allows for the best preparation for the season ahead, and we are eager to be able to connect with the team as a whole for the first time in three years during September’s three-day seminar ahead of the Australian Professional Leagues’ competitions commencing.”

The new A-Leagues 2022/23 seasons kick off on Friday October 7 for Isuzu UTE A-League Men, while the draw for the  the Liberty A-League Women will be announced soon.
